Maya Angelou is by far one of my favorite writers. It is no surprise that some of my favorite inspirational quotes come from her. Here are a few of my favorites by her in no particular order.
- ” We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”
- “No sun outlasts its sunset but will rise again and bring the dawn.”
- The entirety of “Still I Rise.”
I look forward to reading what other inspirational quotes keep people going!Mr. Taylor S. FrommChief ScribeSeptember 8, 2017 at 5:56 pm
In more recent readings I find inspiration in the writings of Yuval Harari as they apply to current events and crises, defining the purpose of history “…aim not to perpetuate the past, but rather [to] be liberated from it.” It’s a great reminder to use yesterday’s and today’s experiences to strengthen and build resolve for tomorrow.

All of these are great quotes and images!
Here’s one that is especially significant for me personally, and I think for those who have been affected by recent weather impacts, as well as other events throughout the nation. I’m not sure if it was truly from Michael Caine, but it seems to be attributed to him in alot of the links I’ve found.Jordan YeagerChief ScribeSeptember 14, 2017 at 7:38 pm
This is a quote that resonates with me.
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. — Steve JobsAmeneh YasrebiChief ScribeSeptember 28, 2017 at 2:46 pm
I’m loving the quotes so far!!!
One quote that I refer to on a daily basis is by one of my favorite poet’s, Rumi: “Yesterday is gone and its tale told. Today new seeds are growing.”
Every day is a new day and presents you with a new opportunity to grow – especially at SA. While yesterday may have been a day full of scribe fires and disasters, don’t let that dishearten you. Use it as momentum to take advantage of your fresh start today. Building stronger regions, one day at a time!
