Technology is ever-changing and becoming smarter and smaller! Many individuals (including myself!) track your steps through your phone or watch. But did you know you can also take your blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygenation from your smartphone?

There are a multitude of health related apps for Android and iOS. Here’s just a short list of what’s trending today:

    • Withings Health Companion: Tracks blood pressure, weight, sleep and activity levels. Offers a blood pressure cuff that plugs into your phone.
    • 10% Happier: Beginner and intermediate guides to learning and practicing meditation
    • MyFitnessPal and Fooducate: Track calories, carbohydrates, proteins, and other nutritional information
    • Couch to 5K, Zombie Run, FitBit, Pocket Yoga: Exercise programs and fitness trackers
    • ZocDoc: Find a doctor in your area that accepts your insurance company and has patient reviews
    • AllergyCast: Check pollen in your area or where you intend to travel
    • iExaminer: View and take pictures of the eye in lieu of a ophthalmoscope (used by professionals)
    • HealthTap: Ask health related questions to medical professionals
    • Happify: Mindful games to alleviate stress
    • My Pregnancy Today: Checklist, reminders, and information for expectant Mothers
    • Glucose Buddy: Track and set reminders for those with Diabetes

Do you use any health related apps on your phone?

What impact do you think it will have on the future of the healthcare industry?
